A Note From the Editor

Fresh People! This month on 247 Townhall we're digging deep into Regional Equity. What's Regional Equity, you ask? It's a new field of community activism that actively searches for the interconnections between socio-cultural issues, regional infrastructure, and environmentalism. In other words- How come the low-income residents of New Orleans, mostly people of color, did not have the same access to transportation, health care, and shelter as other, more affluent New Orleanians? How come FEMA and the National Guard took so long to rescue fellow Americans? How come most of the low-income residents of New Orleans are still waiting for assistance? Regional Equity.

In Equity Across America, we take a cross-country trip to the PolicyLink National Conference on Regional Equity. Along the way, we meet people in LA, Las Vegas, and Tucson, who've got something to say. Flip IT Forward as community's leaders what they would do to make their community better. George Watsky tries to create a green world, and our monthly magazine, 247 Zine, delves into sustainability.

So tell me what you think. Sign in, bump your cause, and show the world what makes you and your neighborhood fresh-to-life.

Stay tuned and stay bright!
