So tell me, right or wrong?

I can't seem to quite comprehend how someone can be let out of jail after killing a man. Doesn't make much sense does it? Well let's start from the beginning before i start to confuse you. On May 22nd, 2009 at around 12:15 a.m. an 18 year old man was stabbed to death in Old Town Portland. This man's name was Rick, and he was my boyfriend. He was killed by the hands of, Nicholas Jordan Amidon, who is 26 years old. Rick's friend Alton, 19, was with Rick during the time of his passing. So this is how the story begins...Rick and Alton were together that night downtown and may have had a little to drink. They both get on the max to head home. While on the max Alton starts a confrontation with a man he says he didn't know prior to the stabbing, the man was Nicholas. They start arguing on the max and as the max stops at Old Town Alton punches Nicholas and runs off the max with Rick running after Alton. Rick gets hit from behind from Nicholas because of Altons actions. Rick starts to fight Nicholas now because he hit him and both Alton and Rick were fighting Nicholas. Suddenly Nicholas pulls out a knife and stabs Rick in the chest 6 times...the brawl ended, and Rick died at the scene. There were many witnessess that night, and at first they called it 'self-defense' until they looked at the autopsy report and according to the 6 stab wounds it was classified as homicide. Both Nicholas and Alton were sent to jail. Alton was later released. Nicholas was in jail, until recently he was let go with all charges against him DROPPED. They let him go. He is walking the streets of Portland now as we speak. They say there isn't enough evidence to the case...How much evidence do you possibly need? Rick is dead, and many many people saw Nicholas take his life that night. It doesn't seem right to me at all. It wasn't right of Rick and Alton to get in the fight that night, but it wasn't like they were going to kill him! Nicholas killed him! He killed a Mama's boy, a Fathers son, a Sisters hero, and a Girl's love. I just feel like something needs to be done. People go to jail for years on charges for just warrants, and this man took a life and is let free. I need help, and i'm asking for it. I need to help rest this case with justice. I'm not gonna let Rick go out like a chump. Thank you for listening to my story.
